Schman does TX!

slightly belated but still exciting, after we came back from Europe (which i still need to finish by the way), my best friend Shan came to visit. At the time we thought she'd be moving to Big D - but it turns out Teach for America wants her in AZ. Boo. At least we got some quality time together before she goes!

Here's some background on mine and Shan's friendship. we met in high school - she was pretending to be totally shy and somehow we became friends. we were part of the weiner gang (don't ask), played fantasy baseball, had crazy dance parties, ate dq most friday nights, battled anyone who argued against byu football, made cookies every sunday night almost without fail, and laid under the stars on our pee blanket. as you can tell, we had a special relationship. and then we went to college.....despite minor fights when one got better grades than the other (yes, we made our schedule EXACTLY the same our first semester), we had a blast. i was so so sad when she left on her mission and i stayed behind. initially we had both decided to go on missions at the same time - but then after getting our check-ups and papers ready on the same day - we never could do anything apart - i realized i shouldn't go. so she left. and she still loved me even though i wrote her probably 5 times on her mission. and while she was gone - i moved to tx. the great thing about shan though, is that we always make time for each other and it's like we never left. i still feel like i can tell her ANYTHING and it's always so comfortable. whenever i come home, it's like we revert back to high school although we're somewhat more mature (kind of) and have bigger decision (definitely) but we are still bff. i lauf you shan. ANYWAYS.

To give her the REAL tx experience, we ate mexican food every night (not even on purpose - yes, it is that bad), bought new boots (ok, ok, i digress, just shoes...), and couldn't help but take her to a PBR (that is Professional Bull Riding folks) show at the one and only COWBOYS STADIUM. That's right. Tx at it's best! And to top it all off, Toby Keith was in concert that night. We were singing 'shoulda been a cowboy' for the rest of the night. COME BACK SHAN!! i miss you.
